Talea's Last Day
12 months Talea was a teacher in the Chres Village Kandek School and Orphanage in Siem Riep Province. I joined her on her last day in school and captured a great team and it’s last play together.          “Teacher Talea, when are you coming back to Cambodia?” more information on the Orphanage here http://cambodianorphanage.org/

The Killing Fields
A journey to black. Together with Cheday and her friends we visit the places of Cambodia’s darkest hours: the Killing Fields and the S 21. As our friends tell us later they all have lost family members to the violent Khmer Rouge regime. As the Regime enslaved practically the whole country there is almost no family without losses.    The four-year period saw the death of approximately 2...

Saigon's lost generation
There are uncountable children on the streets of Saigon. Lost parents, poor background, shadow figures that exploit their emotional faces; the reasons they work on the streets are manifold and the fact that one is more likely to give money in the hand of a innocent child doesn’t assist in easing the situation.   Most kids work from early midday until the morning dawn, begging for money...

Waterpark
Yesterday, Silke, a friend of mine and me kidnapped four street children from Saigons streets, threw them in a taxi and fled to the next big water park. We equipped them with bath suits; after a extended bathing session and lunch we could see in the eyes of clean, carrying young individuals. Children, with great talents and the same pursuit for life quality as any in the world.

Live Laugh Love Soccer
“If soccer was a language everyone would speak it.” Live, Laugh, Love Soccer is an intimate portrait of beach soccer in Vietnam. In the thick of things instead of on the sidelines capturing the passion, the sweat and brotherhood that makes this sport a world religion, a global phenomena and connecting point. Pictures shot at the beach of Hoi An, Vietnam.

The Magic of Miso
Miso (味噌、みそ), is a rich, salty condiment that characterizes the essence of Japanese cooking. The Japanese begin their day with a fortifying bowl of miso soup and use miso to flavor a variety of foods in other meals throughout the day. Making miso is a household art in Asian countries, comparable to the American practice of canning foods.   To make miso, soybeans and sometimes a grain such...

A Way Inside
When most of us imagine Japan, we imagine the crowded subways of Tokyo, the five dollar cups of coffee, the congested city streets, and the high-tech electronics. But there is more to Japan than its overpriced, crowded cities. An entire world exists beyond the modern urban sprawl, just as another Japan exists beneath the formalized manners and public smiles. More than just a way to save...

Nara Enlightened
Nara’s Mascot enlightened.        Japan’s first real capital, Nara is one of the most rewarding destinations in the country.   Like Kyoto, Nara is uninspiring at first glance, but careful inspection will reveal the rich history and hidden beauty of the city. Nara was a splendor in its time — a world of silks, Chinese scripts and Buddhist culture set in a sleepy...
